Hello guys,

Let's start with a little presentation. I'm french, 23 years old and playing poker for a living for a couple of years now. I lived in Nice, Paris and Malta before, and studied 1 year in Helsinki also for my Erasmus.
I enjoy travelling as i play poker and don't need to be in a special place. Luckily, my girlfriend is also working online, so she can move with me also :)

Long story short, Here were are in Tallinn for at least 6 months. We arrived on Thursday, and got our appartment on Suur-Ameerika.
I talked with Ranka over the last month or so, he was really nice & helpful with me, so i figured it would be nice to create a topic here where we can share valuable informations for people maybe wanting to move for a few time in Tallinn.

I'm now trying to transfer my Pokerstars account to Pokerstars.ee, but i'm in trouble verifying the account since i obviously don't have your high-tech Estonian ID :D Will see what support says!

I'm obviously OK if some of you wanna go for a few drinks/meeting in the city, would be nice to meet locals!

See you,

IMHO you don't need to transfer your account because only estonians needed the transfer. If your nationality is different then you can play from .com client.

And I wonder what happens if you do transfer it and then move from Estonia?

Rage

Well, if you are situated in Estonia, you have to use .ee client, just you have to send copy of your ID or driver license or smthing to the support.

Hey,

Thanks for your messages :)

I play mainly MTT's and SNG's, low and midstakes. My GF was finishing her studies the last couple of years so i had to cashout pretty much everything i won to cover expenses/living costs :) And low-midstakes MTT's/SNG's have a pretty good ROI.
I usually 16-22 Table with 4.40 180 players and MTT's (that's my "regular speed" sessions), and 180men/45men Turbo SNG's for my turbo sessions :D

My stats for the year so far :

Cashewouten 11,528 $3 $6 35% $37,330 Super Tilt N/A PokerStars Year2010

Biggest wins were a chop Heads-up for $15K in the 55$ Daily Ninety grand and the win without deal of the $5+R 50K for 6,9K.
After mainly scores under $2K and SNG grind :)

For my background, i've been studying in a Business School in France (where i did my 3rd year abroad, in Finland), and i've been playing poker since the end of that :) I love the freedom and liberty that goes with playing poker for a living, and i'm too young yet to set up in a regular job routine i think!

I'm also doing some coaching videos, but it's in French. If some of you wanna check it's on www.bestkicker.com / Screenname here = AnthoBB.

Thanks again for your kind words, i'm amazed so far at how nice are the Estonian people i'm meeting. Definitely a fresh change from Paris :D

Anyone knows a good store where i can buy computer parts such as Memory ?

I need to boost the memory of my laptop (need a 2gb DDR2-667 200-Pinn)

Only shop i found so far is far away : http://www.atf.ee/computer_components/ram/kingston_sodimm_ddr2_pc5400_667mhz_1gb_nonecc_cl5/

If you have something which is closer to the center it would be great

Thanks guys, but they didn't had the one memory i was looking for. Had to go to Oistmäe (Sorry i don't know how to make the special O :D)

Was pretty strange place :D Big buildings of houses everywhere like the suburbs in France, and then the shop in the middle of this, in a regular building on the second floor, with very little information outside. It was really like it was a drug dealer in a middle of the suburbs :D But the shop had what i wanted, and it was pretty easy to go there by bus so everything is OK :)

Looks like it's gonna take a while for Pokerstars to solve my problem, i hope it will be fast cause i need to grind soon now that i have a good setup.
I think it's the first time they're faced to this problem on Pokerstars.ee, being a foreigner and not having an Estonian ID for the Verification process must not happen a lot here !

And this morning it was snowing a little, so i'm happy!

I do a lot of skiing when i'm in France, but i think it'll be pretty difficult here considering there is no mountain

But i don't know, i just like the snow. I come from Nice (South of France) and it's pretty much never snowing there, so i guess that should play.

Nice to know that they can activate an account even without the digital ID, i really hope i'll be able to grind back on stars soon, can't stand Full Tilt.

Don't really understand what they have to do to validate my account. Maybe have my ID validated by a local authority ? (like gambling authority or police/whatever) ?
If it has to be authentified by French authority, i'm fucked, it will take 125 months considering how slow they are in administrations.

Yeah, Pärnu beach is the best in this region (Balticks/Scandinavia). I can tell you everything about that. And I think Ranka knows about the beach as well. I spend there like 50 days in a year (no joke) :D Theres great sand, no wind usually, air/water temperature is always a few degrees warmer, than anywere else, sea goes deep slowly and the bottom of the sea is sand only and also nice new promenade.

If you have been here long enough, you can start saying you are true Estonian. But first, here are some tips, so you would know, when you are turning into an Estonian! :)

You spent at least one midsummer in Saaremaa, Hiiumaa or one of the smaller islands.
You spit three times around your left shoulder for good luck.
Words like "veoauto", "täieõiguslik" or "jää-äär" sound perfectly pronouncable to you.
There can never be too much sarcasm.
You can at times drink hot tea to hot food
You have been to Finland.
You would agree that wife-carrying is a real sport (at least as long as Estonians are winning).

You think that any beverage below 20% is non-alcoholic.
You look in both directions before crossing the road, even if it's a one-way street.
You put ketchup inside your pasta (french-cooked gourmet faire la fine manger pasta) in order to not to get the ketchup-bowl dirty.
When someone asks you "where is Estonia?" you quickly reply that it's located in Northern Europe close to Finland...
You have ever worn or seen anyone wear "karupüksid".
When someone says "Estonians are so beautiful" you answer almost without emotions "I know.
